Please reach us at MaddenElementaryPTO@gmail.com if you cannot find what you need.
We will update this page with your questions!
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) maintains a forum in which parents, teachers, and community members work together to enrich the children’s minds, hearts, and character.
We are committed to funding activities and programs that enhance the students’ education and welfare, as well as supporting the teachers, administration, and staff throughout the year.
By joining the PTO, you demonstrate your commitment to upholding and advancing excellent standards at Madden Elementary.
You may join PTO at any time during the school year.
To receive a t-shirt with your membership, the deadline to join for each year will be announced in August.
Yes.
PTO membership is an annual choice, and does not auto-renew.
T-shirts should be delivered to students' classrooms the week of October 17, following the annual spirit wear sale.
You will receive a Husky Blue t-shirt in this year's theme design, in the size you specified when you joined.
No.
We encourage our members to volunteer if they are able, but recognize that everyone has many demands on their time.
Volunteering questions may also be addressed to our VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) Coordinator at madden.volunteers@gmail.com.
Complete your FBISD Background Check, and email our VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) Coordinator at madden.volunteers@gmail.com.
PTO coordinates with the school for 2 room parents per classroom. Prospective room parents must complete an FBISD Background Check and be members in good standing of the PTO. You may contact your child's teacher or our Room Parent Coordinators (roomparentcoordinator.maddenpto@gmail.com) to ask if an additional room parent is needed.
REMEMBER! Even if the Room Parent positions are filled, you may still ask your child's teacher how you may provide assistance to the classroom.
The PTO maintains standing committees, including (but not limited to) Teacher Appreciation, Yearbook, and the Learning Garden, which all need volunteers throughout the year.
PTO also hosts spirit wear and membership tables at many school activities during the year.
Fundraisers such as the Raffle / Carnival in March will require many volunteers for both planning and the day of the activity.
Lastly, there may be projects that various teachers request assistance with for activities throughout the year.
PTO funds are spent in support of Madden students and staff.
During the 2021-22 schoolyear, PTO spent almost $31,000, with the bulk paying for field trips, the down-payment on the Learning Garden shade, Classroom Enhancement Funds (classroom supplies and STEM consumables not provided in the FBISD budget), Teacher Appreciation activities, and the two holiday parties.
See a full breakdown of the 2021-22 expenditures here.
The PTO raises funds in a variety of ways.

PTO strongly encourages pre-orders, because only a very limited stock will be maintained on campus.
PTO also maintains a limited stock of spirit wear available for sale at school events, which may be purchased through from our website. Visit our Store Page!
Visit https://www.balfour.com/ and select Shop My School. Navigate to Madden Elementary.
Presale yearbooks will be at their lowest price of the year during the early pre-order period (typically ending in November).
We strongly recommend preordering a yearbook. There is only a single print run, and we cannot guarantee availability after the presale ends.
PTO sponsors a school supply sale through May and June. The supply packages are curated to meet the requirements of each grade at Madden.
Preordered supply packages are delivered to classrooms before the first day of school.
We strongly recommend pre-purchasing school supply packages. PTO does not maintain a significant stock of school supplies on campus.
No.
The School Store is run on Friday mornings by the Student Council. This is a student organization that works to support the Madden community.
